The MEC Still Needs a Receiver

by Dale Glaser

I felt for a long time that the Environmental Center should have the audio and video equipment to make available the news on TV, play tapes and videos, listen to our public radio station KZYX when it starts up soon (and KPFA, KQED, local stations, etc.). So I took on the personal project of making this equipment happen. Thanks to many people's donations, the Center now has a VCR and color TV. translator.

As for audio equipment, enough donations came in to recently buy a fast dubbing tape deck. So the Center now has the tape deck and the speakers of an audio system. What's left is the receiver!

I don't want to have to collect more donations to buy a receiver. I would like someone to donate a receiver. Somebody out there must have a old receiver from having upgraded. So, c'mon, would you please donate it? It's a little crazy to have this new tape deck and speakers sitting at the Center with no way to use them.
