The developer and WalMart are going through the city planning process once again to try and get a General Plan amendment allowing commercial use of the Redwood Industrial Park off Talmage next to 101, and a development permit for the huge WalMart store.
On August 21, the City of Ukiah will hold its scoping hearing for the EIR that, because of the Mendocino Environmental Center lawsuit settlement, will now be required as part of the new WalMart permit process. At the scoping hearing, the Ukiah community will have a chance to express its concerns about the impacts of a WalMart store, and help define exactly what imortant areas will be addressed in the EIR. This is your chance to make a difference in the future of Ukiah.
The community should be there.
