MEC Board of Directors Election in October

In October, MEC holds its 1990 board of directors election. Members will be voting for four MEC board of directors, because the seats held by Gary Ball, Betty Ball, Ross Walker and Charles Peterson are up for re-election. Nominations are open. Call Ross Walker at 463-0853 (who is heading the Nomination committee), call the MEC, write a letter, get those nominations in. Ballot statements will be sent to members in September, and election ballots sent in early October with the results counted at the annual meeting scheduled for the end of October.

Members in need of help

Some MEC members are in need of financial support:

* Stewart Tregoning fell off a ladder while helping set up the new Ft. Bragg Environmental Center.

* Lang Russell had a serious injury to his left hand which will keep him from working for two months.

* Margene needs our financial support to help her continue her work with the native community. She also needs to pay back the MEC for the Indian Conference she attended in June (See article this issue).

Do you have a Video camera to donate to the MEC?

The MEC is in need of a video camera, and we're only going to get one if it's donated. You can probably imagine how useful a video camera will be. If you have one you could donate, please do...

Recycling Tip

I've stopped buying "baggies" since I discovered that my trash was loaded with cereal and cracker box liners, etc. that can be used to bag up those carrot sticks, sandwiches and cookies for my daughter's lunch box! Anyone else with more ideas to share.
