Leonard's parole hearing was December 11, 1995. On March 20, 1996, he was again denied parole despite a favorable recommendation from the presiding parole hearings officer. This is still another blatant example of the complete disregard for justice demonstrated in his case. Again the government has turned away from the truth while admitting they don't know who committed the crime for which Leonard was unjustly convicted. It is vitally important that continued support for Presidential clemency continue. Leonard's clemency plea has been pending for two years. Please write to:
President Bill Clinton, The White House,1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC 20500, FAX 202/456-24, and
Attorney General Janet Reno, Dept. of Justice, 10th and Constitution, Washington, DC 20530, FAX 202/514-4371.
Also, please write to Senator Arlen Specter, United States Senate, SH-530, Washington, DC 20510, and ask that there be a Congressional investigation and hearing into the constitutional and human rights abuse in the case of Leonard Peltier, the traditional Oglala people and the FBI misconduct leading up to the firefight.
Your continued support is needed at this time. Let these officials know that you believe Leonard Peltier, an innocent man who was wrongfully convicted, must be freed.
