Stop Pollution

by Bruce Haldane

It's here; it's there; it's all around us; some of it is even inside our bodies (not to mention our minds). Pollution is in the air, the water, the soil, our food and drink. Try and do something about it? Resistance to cleaning things up is powerful because opponents can throw money and the provision of jobs into the argument and those are strong persuaders.

That doesn't mean we're doomed to live and die with it. Just like so many other negative aspects of modern society, we can deal with it, if only incrementally. But it takes a concerted, persistent, directed effort by dedicated people.

The MEC is setting up a task force to jump into this problem. The group will meet at the Center at 7 PM Wednesday, April 8. We need to determine what types of pollution to deal with and how to go about it. Interested? Come and help.
