Leonard Peltier Support Group
Asupport group for American Indian Movement member and political prisoner Leonard Peltier has recently been created right here in Mendocino County! The campaign to free Leonard Peltier has expanded to become a large, diverse coalition made up of support groups and organizations from across the country and around the world. A well-attended organizing conference was held in Lawrence, Kansas in July. Mendocino county residents Bear Lincoln and Alicia Littletree attended that conference.
The support group meets at the MEC (Call for date of next meeting.) We are currently organizing a Book Reading and Video Night, where the film, "Incident at Oglala" will be shown, and where people will read from Leonard's newly-published book, "Prison Writings: My Life is My Sundance." Please contact the MEC for further details about Support Group meetings and events. Join this important struggle to free Leonard Peltier, whose health is rapidly deteriorating. He needs all of our help!
