Challenge the WTO!

The World Trade Organization is an association of 135 nations that sets rules for international trade. However, it is dominated by global corporations, many of which are larger and more powerful than entire countries. Meeting in secret in Geneva, the WTO hasÑin the name of "free trade"Ñbullied supposedly soverign governments into abandoning laws protecting small farms, local businesses, decent working conditions and the environment. Scores of Mendocino County residents will be traveling to Seattle to join what is shaping up to be a truely massive and broad based protest against WTO policies as it attempts to conduct its annual meeting from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3. Over 300 labor, environmentral and other organizations are sending representatives, with participant estimates ranging upwards to 50,000.
