MEC Affiliates
People, individually or in groups, who are deeply disturbed about an issue and are moved to action gravitate to the MEC. The Center becomes the base for their work - a storefront for their office. The MEC supports grassroots organizing by providing use of office equipment, an address and message phone, meeting space, fiscal sponsorship, limited staff support, event insurance, bulk mail permit, and a place to bounce around thoughts and ideas with others who are moved to action.
These individuals and groups are MEC Affiliates. They are the people doing work in the community in the broad areas of environmental protection and peace and social justice. The MEC does not initiate these groups. They are self organizing and operating. MEC staff or Board members may or may not participate in the work. The MEC Board has the ultimate decision on who affiliates with the MEC.
