EARTH DAY 2000 SET

Greetings! This year we are celebrating Earth Day Saturday April 22, 2000 at the Redwood Valley Elementary School 700 School Way and the Redwood Valley Outdoor Education Project (RVOEP) 8301 Pinecrest Drive. The theme is recycling, and there is an interest in environmental education and fire safety. Our co-sponsors are KZYX and Z, Mendocino Environmental center, California Native Plant Society, Mendocino County Office of Education, Northern California Society of American Foresters, and Peregrine Audubon Chapter.

We have many events planned and "in progress." Our special guest is storyteller and artist Anne Rovetta. There will be worms and worm bins! We need donations for a raffle and a treasure hunt. The theater group REALITY will be performing and selling food, and Allison Hunt is leading face painting. We will have booths for free to non-profit organizations, and a ten dollar fee for profit-making organizations. We are very proud to be sponsoring this event and our goal this year is to encourage involvement and participation in Mendocino County and points beyond. This is the 30th anniversary of Earth Day and a very special event as we look at our intent into the millennium. See you there!
