THREE NEW COAST ALLIANCE CAMPAIGNS

Mendocino coast residents interested in the any of these issues-- getting corporate money out of our elections, creating a decent and fair health care system, or protecting our food from genetically engineered crops, bovine growth hormones, Round-up Ready and Terminator seeds-- are invited to contact the following chair persons and get involved: the CLEAN ELECTIONS CAMPAIGN committee chairwoman Linda Perry at 937-4775;

the HEALTH CARE CAMPAIGN committee chairwoman Devora Rossman at 937-1077; and

the SAFE FOOD CAMPAIGN committee chairman John Wozniak at 962-0932.

The Coast chapter will hold a two-day discussion and workshop in early March to draft a plan of intended specific political action to ensure clean elections in municipal, district, and county campaigns. It Begins Friday, March 3, 7:00 p.m., at the Fort Bragg Library conference room. It will feature JoAnn Fuller of Common Cause, Helen Herbert of the League of Women Voters, and Richard Leamon of AFD. Participants are encouraged to contact Linda Perry (above) beforehand

Also, Alliance for Democracy founder Ronnie Dugger will be on the coast to speak at Fort Bragg's Town Hall on Saturday, March 25th, also at 7:00. For further information on the activities of the Mendocino Coast chapter of the Alliance for Democracy, contact Tom Wodetzki at 937-1113 or tw@mcn.org.

INLAND ALLIANCE EVENTS

The Inland Chapter of AFD has organized two events for March. The first topic Campaign Finance Reform, a panel discussion/forum to be held Saturday, March 4, 7:00 p.m., at the Ukiah Methodist Church, 270 N. Pine Street. Panelists, in addition to those from the Coast workshop, will include Bruce Haldane, candidate for First District Supervisor, and Dan Hamburg, former supervisor/representative and now with the Green Party.

The second gathering features Ronnie Dugger , co-founder of AFD, who will speak on "Ending Corporate Rule: The Work of the Alliance," on Friday, March 24, 7:00 p.m., at the City Council Chamber Room at the Ukiah Civic Center.
