SEED reports that after a period of low activity due to volunteer exhaustion, things are picking up now with new energy coming from several new volunteers. SEED now has 300 members and are seeking new businesses to accept the currency. SEED is changing the format of their newsletter/directory to now be focused around a theme with each publication. The next Directory will be published at end of May and be circulated by first week of June...with the theme of: "SEED, Democracy and Economic Justice." The following issue's theme will be "SEED, Cancer and Organic farming."
SEED is also beginning to focus on doing coalition building with groups like Alliance for Democracy. SEED's next publicized event will be on the first Friday of July (the 7th)...where they will be making a presentation at the Alliance for Democracy meeting at Town Hall in Ft. Bragg. Carol Broillet will also be at that meeting.
For more information about SEED, call 937-4412 or 937-2102 and for information about the Alliance for Democracy meeting call 937-1113 or 743-1204.
