Communities To Celebrate Diversity
May will be Diversity Month in Mendocino County. Local groups are organizing celebrations of our diverse communities in Ukiah, Willits, Covelo and Point Arena. The purpose of the events is to celebrate the diversity of our Mendocino community, and to educate us all about the advantages of understanding cultural differences so that we can live and work together peacefully. We hope to provide opportunities for the people of Mendocino County to learn, share, understand, and celebrate our cultural differences.
The events will include a wide range of activities including entertainment, music and dancing, food, games, and workshops. We are also working with several school districts to introduce some curriculum about diversity issues.
We are eager for assistance. Anyone interested in helping plan or organize any of the events should contact their nearest group. Event dates and contact people are:
