Defend The Mattole Forest Defenders!
In Humboldt County, on April 10, Pacific Lumber Company (owned by Maxxam), their contractors and two ranchers filed a SLAPP suit against the Mattole Forest Defenders, 16 named individuals and Jane and John Does 1-200, for damages incurred from the eight months of blockades in defense of old growth in the Mattole River watershed. Donations for legal aid as well as support for court hearings and the continuing blockades are greatly needed. Call 825-6598 or the MEC for more information.
