THP Monitoring Conference Held
The MEC-sponsored Timber Harvest Plan Monitoring Conference was well-received by about thirty participants who got together at the Mendocino Recreation Center on April 21. The daylong conference was broken into seven sessions. Topics included the THP Process; Geology, Hydrology and Roads; The Role of the Registered Professional Forester; and Groundtruthing. We would like to thank the following for their help and participation as speakers: Linda Perkins, Skip Wollenberg, Sal Eggelston, Steve Antler, Mary Pjerrou, Darcy Mahoney, Greg Jirak and Patrick Burnstad. A special thanks to Beth Bosk who filmed the conference, to Lynda McClure who supplied refreshments and the MEC staff who supported the event.
