MEC is Moving

The property next to the MEC is being sold and our common wall is being rebuilt. As a result, the MEC will have to relocate for the summer. This relocation project is a great opportunity for a spring cleaning of our permanent office. Lots of help will be needed to see that this relocation and renovation goes smoothly. A renovation fund for office equipment, etc. has been started. We can really make our downtown office something special. Please feel welcome to help however you want. As of this printing we are not sure of our new location, but it will be posted when known. Meanwhile, you can call or stop by and talk to Liz for updates.

The Bullhorn

We are delighted that two of our board members, Brandon Virgin and treasurer Paul Davis are joining the core group of the new community paper, The Bullhorn. (See article on page 14.)

Efren's Birthday

Board Member Efren Turner turned 17 on April 11th.

MEC Board Retreat

Our annual retreat will be held on the weekend of May 18th. Board members, staff and volunteers will gather to discuss the MEC's role in the community and and plan campaigns and projects.

Movie Night

Don't forget to stop by the MEC every Wednesday night at 7 pm to catch a flick. The event is hosted by board members Mary Kameko Shibata and Efren Turner. Call the office at 468-1660 to find out what movie is playing this week.

Raffle

The MEC plans to have on-going raffles throughout the year. Currently, two great prizes are offered. One is a signed and numbered limited edition print by noted Mendocino Coast artist Erin Dertner. The professionally framed piece is a view of the village of Mendocino titled "Golden Headlands" and is valued at $250. The other prize is a stay for two at the relaxing Harbin Hot Springs located in Middletown, which is valued at $80. Tickets are available for a $1 donation and may be purchased at the MEC and at Renaissance Gallery. The drawing for this raffle will be held on May 10th at Renaissance Gallery, corner of S. Oak and Seminary Streets, Ukiah. All proceeds benefit the Mendocino Environmental Center.

Watch for announcements of more raffles to come.
